Day 3 - Radio Station, Fort Drum, Jrecks, Thompson Park, Uncle Sam Dinner Cruise with High School Buddy Lori and Husband Dan
Started the morning off with a visit to see my ole' pal Johnny Spezzano!
I was on the radio with him for a little bit too.

So much fun to catch up!
Jeff and my Grandfather were friends, they went way back.
After leaving the Radio Station, Vaughn and I went and picked up Neely and headed to Jreck Subs on State Street for a quick and yummy lunch.
A drive out past Ft. Drum was next. We couldn't see anything of the base, nor can you just drive onto the base as we did in the past. So, we continued on to Black River.
And there it is, the old Beetle Bailey's Club where some of us used to go and dance.
Truth be told? It was a hot spot to meet soldiers😆
Then, it was the Jean's Beans experience. Vaughn liked the pastry section!
I got the rice pudding - I love it!
Oh and check out my JCC Alumni shirt!
(A lovely gift from the JCC Foundation Director, Ashley Capone)

Before heading up to Thompson Park, I did stop at Stewart's on outer State Street and snagged a six-pack of Root Beer.
You can't get that anywhere else. I love it!

Vaughn flew the drone while Neely and I watched him and some other cats flying a model plane that was dropping parachutes. It was relaxing but that humidity...UGH! I tend to forget how humid it is back home.
Dropped off Neely, headed back to the hotel to rest up and then get dressed up for the surprise!
I booked the tickets for this boat ride about two weeks prior. Thank you Lori for the invite, I might not have taken the time to do this excursion otherwise.

Vaughn experiencing A-Bay for the first time.
All Abooard! Let's take our boat tour and enjoy and Italian Dinner!
My husband about to pass under this famous bridge with me meant a lot. This was such a childhood staple, this area and this bridge - I crossed it many, many times with my family and as an adult. I always loved going to Kingston, Canada as well as Montreal with my High School French Club.
Weirdos. We've not changed one bit since high school.
The light above Lori, I had to capture this, it was so pretty to me.
She's so special and sweet. I love you Lori!
The Famous Thousand Islands Bridge!
Did you know our hometown area is also famous for Thousand Island Dressing?
